James’ quotation was comprehensive and although a little more expensive than the other estimates we had received, my wife and I were impressed by his portfolio of work. Once engaged, James was very good at communicating and told us of his plans for each week of the build and if there were any changes we were informed – unusual for builders in my experience. James was also receptive to a number of alterations and minor decision changes throughout the project.
He also recommended a roof lantern for the new study, which turned out to be a masterstroke and has made the room much brighter than would have otherwise been the case.
Inevitably snags and minor problems occur with any major building work. We found that they were always quickly and cheerfully remedied. I found James very easy to work with.
Now that the project has been completed Heather and I are delighted with both the extension and the new driveway and paths the laying of which James supervised. We have received many positive comments on the new look to the front of our property.
